The day started with Jay’s Bhraat entrance in the streets of Shoreditch which got the attention of shop owners, tourists and others passers-by. Although it was a chilly morning, this didn’t stop the guests showing their best dance moves in their shiny wedding outfits, as the grooms wedding party made its the way to the Village Underground entrance. After a brief ceremony involving the groom and Jess’s family, we escorted the bharaat upto the Mandap area where the Maharaj conducted the religous ceremony.
We returned in the evening for the reception party where we got to appreciate the venue some more.ย Village underground is described as an evolving project building and an international platform for creativity and culture; you can definitely see the creativity of the wedding decor.
In the ‘Grand Entrance’ for Jay and Jess, all of guests were cheering, dancing and waving their arms in the air. There was so much energy, that it seemed like everyone was charged on Duracell batteries!!
The couple and the guests then headed straight to the dancefloor where they enjoyed dancing to the sounds of ‘The Retrosettes’ a vintage band who did covers of ‘American Boy’ and ‘Amy Winehouse – Valerie’. This was a fantastic party – Congratulations Jay and Jess.
