When the dhol players of Drummers Delight get called to perform in Marrakesh, you know it’s going to be an unforgettable experience. Our recent gig in the breathtaking Agafay Desert was no exception!
We flew into Marrakesh and were treated to a stay in the stunning Riad Alnadine, right in the heart of the Old Town—a place steeped in history, vibrant culture, and ancient charm. Wandering through the narrow, winding streets, you can’t help but feel the energy of Marrakesh’s bustling souks, with their colourful spices, intricate crafts, and warm local hospitality. It’s a place where time seems to stand still, with each turn leading to a new discovery.
Our riad was a peaceful oasis amid the lively chaos, offering us a quiet retreat after long days of preparation. (Check out the photo—trust me, you’ll want to stay hereon your next trip!). There’s something about the architecture of the Old Town that makes you feel transported to another world. Every archway, every mosaic tile tells a story of its rich history and evokes a sense of discovery and wonder.
The highlight? The party took place in the vast, golden sands of the Agafay Desert, where we had the privilege of performing with a traditional Moroccan band during the guests’ reception. Imagine the scene—blue skies, endless desert, and the rich, vibrant sounds of the dhol and Moroccan instruments blending in harmony. It was pure magic.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Riman and Hamish made their grand entrance on camels! Yes, you heard that right—camels! This desert celebration was full of iconic moments, and we’ve got the photos to prove it.

For the evening’s entertainment, we brought our signature DJ drumming set to take the party to the next leve— hyping up the crowd with a fusion of beats and rhythms that had everyone dancing under the stars. Special shout-out to DJ Suki Motion, who played the hottest records from around the world, setting the perfect vibe.
A big thanks to the incredible team of photographers and cinematographers, Matt & Jodie Everard (follow them here) and Matt Morgan (check him out here), for capturing every moment of this magical night in Marrakesh. We’re working with them to put something cool together for this event!
It was an unforgettable event, and we’re already dreaming about our next performance in the desert sands of Morocco. Need dhol players for your event? Get in touch with Drummers Delight—we’d love to bring our beats and rhythms to your big day!
