The hottest wedding of the year in more respects than one! This was a wedding very close to the hearts of DD as it was the big day for our friend Mr Rohit Rikhi. The day started with Rohit’s arrival where he was very slowly driven upto the main entrance to the London Syon Park Hotel. Here, we briefed the bharaat on what we were expecting of them: lots of dancing and cheering, and boy did we get lots of it. As the family and friends danced, Rohit, looking like a Prince stepped out of a very grand looking Rolls Royce. I It was baking hot on Saturday morning and I can confidentally say we beat the heat by ensuring we took things very slow to make the most of this special occasion and to ensure the Bride’s side could prepare for the arrival of ‘Prince Rohit’!
All the guests were served a delicious breakfast by Ragamama, who were the caterers throughout the day. Once guests were seated Rohit took his place at the mandap shortly after which he was joined by the lovely Bride, Nisha: together with the Pandit ji the religious ceremony commenced. The ceremony was followed by a drinks reception, where guests were entertained by the absolutely amazing violinist Kiki Chen, from the Birmingham String quartet. Kiki played some great bollywood classics like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Tere Liye’ from Veer Zara.
During the drinks reception, the venue was transformed into a fabulous looking dinner reception. We made the ‘Grand Entrance’ with the Rohit and Nisha’ which included the DD Bagpiper. It was great to see the married couple enjoying their entrance by dancing away, which I think got the crowd even more excited who were already clapping and cheering along; it was thoroughly enjoyable! VK Singh from Enigma Roadshow ensured the crowd were kept on that high for the rest of the night, he did a marvellous job of Djing by playing an awesome blend of Bhangra/ Bollywood and RnB. Overall a fantastic wedding. Congratulations Rohit and Nisha!
